This year the BRIDGES Program has asked all participating schools to make a push toward including students, staff and parents in the program. So far the results have been great!
Starting at the BRIDGES Summer Camp, students and staff participated in a 2-hour dialogue around the value of an intergenerational approach to the program. Students said, ‘the talk with the teachers and principals [had a] huge impact!”
During the school year teachers and parents have joined in on our all-day human relations retreats as well. Here’s what they’ve had to say:
“I really enjoyed communicating with the youth today. I think it is important that parents communicate with their children and let them know they care for them.”-

With this new focus the BRIDGES Task Force ensures that the program is comprehensive by including students, staff and parents. When these groups work together we believe that their work will result in both institutional and individual changes that will improve the school climate measurably.
