No one should have to fear their place of worship. No one should be targeted for who they are. No one.
Our world is seeing a rise of extremism that we can’t ignore. While it may be tempting to hope that these acts are from a fringe element, the hate, rage and isolation reflected in them seems to be seeping into our mainstream culture.
When we see hate crime rising, hate symbols joked about and dehumanizing of people with which we disagree we cannot turn away.
Islamophobia and all forms of bigotry and oppression are unacceptable and weaken the fabric of our society.
