#HateFreeOC is an educational and awareness campaign to create and cultivate a hatefree Orange County and to bring diverse communities together to promote a peaceful and inclusive community for all to thrive
First Place – Emily Gonzalez (Western High School)
Faces of Diversity
“Each area within the face represents different flags; Mexico, US, transgender flag, LGBTQIA flag, and the colors for OC Human Relations. Face shows everything of a person–diversity as a whole.”
Second Place – Joey Laroza (Brookhurst Jr. High School)
Peace Towards All:
“My artwork features the peace symbol in an orange, representing Orange County along with a background of multiple countries/cultures displaying diversity.”
Third Place – Angel Guevara (Loara High School)
People are People
“Hate is often formed from our differences, but what people don’t realize is that all people are people. This work shows that by bringing four different races together as one. The children are to look like they are drawn by children. They are multiracial and holding hands because children seem to connect no matter the race. Sadly, the children take after what they grow up around when they get older.”
