OC Human Relations invited students in Grades 8 – 12 to prepare a short, inspirational speech on why young people should take a stand against oppression and injustice. Over 70 YouthSpeak entries were received from schools across Orange County. Our Human Relations Associates Program (HRAP) interns, selected 3 finalists who delivered their speeches to our Board on April 8. After much deliberation, the Board chose Jacob Metz as the winner of the $500 first prize. Carmen and Adam received $250 scholarships. Jacob will deliver his speech at Awards 39.
