In collaboration with other Dispute Resolution team members, this individual will support the delivery of mediation services provided to Orange County residents by the Orange County Human Relations Council through funding received from the County of Orange under the Dispute Resolution Programs Act (DRPA). OC Human Relations has been providing these services in Orange County for over 20 years.
CORE DUTIES
The responsibilities of the Senior Conflict Resolution Specialist in Family Law:
• Conduct family mediations both in-person at the Lamoreaux Justice Center and our main office in Santa Ana as well as online through Zoom or Microsoft Teams
• Provide intake for new mediation clients, screen for domestic violence, and assign cases to mediators
• Conduct outreach and marketing for court-based family mediation program
• Supervise, coach, mentor and evaluate volunteers and interns for Family Court
• Collect, analyze, and report program data
OTHER DUTIES
• Co-develop and deliver mediation skills trainings related to family law case needs in collaboration with other Dispute Resolution team members
• Maintain open communication with Program Director about priorities, projects, and workload
• Work with Program Director to create and revise protocol and practices to meet changing needs
• Research and learn new tools and technology to meet changing needs
• Work with development team to develop program marketing materials as needed
• Facilitate or support other agency trainings, community meetings, and dialogues as time permits
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• A BS/BA degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field plus 4 or more years of substantial experience demonstrating the knowledge and abilities listed below
• DRPA Basic Mediation Certification with a mastery of facilitative mediation skills and a strong working knowledge of alternative dispute resolution practices in general
• Experience working with family law matters: drafting settlement agreements, calculating child support, etc.
• Experience doing start to finish divorce mediation, including paperwork (judgement packets, etc.)
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preferred but not required
• Doctor of Jurisprudence and State Bar of California active member in good standing
• Experience as a trainer and/or mentor, preferably in the areas of family law and mediation
• Experience in program or practice development
• Experience with case management systems
• Bilingual (Spanish, Vietnamese, Korean, Arabic, or Mandarin) skills

• Human and civil rights issues that different racial, ethnic, religious, LGBTQ+, immigrant communities, among others, are facing
EMPLOYMENT PACKAGE
• Salary Range: $26.50-$27.50 per hour, based on experience
• Full benefits including health, dental, 401(k), life insurance, 9 sick days, 11 paid holidays, 10 paid vacation days, and others. Benefits will be pro-rated based on the number of hours worked.
