Call for Nominations: Orange County Heroes Wanted
Recognizing those who work to create safe, inclusive, respectful schools and communities
What: OC Human Relations, an Orange County-serving nonprofit, is seeking nominations of individuals, law enforcement, schools, and community organizations that have made lasting contributions to human relations in Orange County. Award recipients will be honored at the annual AWARDS 45 on May 5, 2016 at the City National Grove of Anaheim.
Nomination categories include:
· Diverse Community Leaders: Honoring individuals or groups that promote human relations, foster mutual understanding and respect among residents or work to peacefully resolve conflict.
· Distinguished Business: Honoring a business that goes above and beyond to support diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
· Community-Oriented Policing: Honoring exemplary efforts through a community-oriented policing project or initiative.
Who: Individuals and/or groups involved in community leadership, community based organizations, schools, and law enforcement, including diverse community leaders, school administrators and staff, students and police officers who work to create safe, inclusive, respectful schools and/or communities may be nominated.
When: Anyone may submit a nomination online by the deadline: Friday, January 22, 2016 at 12:00 noon.
Why: For 45 years, OC Human Relations has been honoring individuals, law enforcement, schools and community organizations for their contributions to human relations in Orange County. These community heroes model community engagement and help lead the way to greater mutual understanding among residents of Orange County.
